The 1774 Jura Vin Jaune is one of the most historically significant wines ever recorded. Bottled in the late eighteenth century, it predates the French Revolution and offers a rare physical link to pre-industrial European winemaking. Its survival is owed to both the natural stability of the Vin Jaune style and the meticulous stewardship of the wine over generations. The oxidative ageing process, combined with high acidity and alcohol, creates a wine capable of extraordinary longevity.

Vin Jaune is traditionally bottled in the clavelin, a distinctive 62 centilitre bottle that reflects the volume of wine remaining after extended ageing, symbolising loss through evaporation known as the angels share. It stands as a testament to the ingenuity of Jura vignerons and the timeless relevance of traditional methods preserved across centuries.
