La Romanée-Conti Grand Cru is a monopole vineyard of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and is often singled out as Burgundy’s greatest terroir. Originally called Cros des Cloux, this hallowed vineyard has a long and illustrious history, but its more modern era began with the first new vintage bottling from DRC in 1952, after replanting of the vines in 1947-48. Often in more complex vintages, the best producers still make exceptional quality wines and this is certainly no less true of the 2004 Romanée-Conti.

Emerging from a challenging vintage, the 2004 Romanee-Conti reveals complex aromatics of red fruit, spice and earthy nuance, developing slowly and rewarding patience rather than immediacy.
