Domaine de la Romanee-Conti are considered by many to be the finest producer of wine in the world. Their vineyards are concentrated around the village of Vosne-Romanee & include some of the most sought after Grand Crus in Burgundy.
The 2012 Romanée-Conti from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti opens with a surprisingly expressive nose, dominated by an array of floral aromas including violet, lavender and rose petal. Red and black currant notes are present, supported by gentle spice, though these remain secondary to the striking floral character.
Romanée-Conti is almost always profoundly complex, though not invariably more so than La Tâche. In 2012, however, it stands indisputably as the most complex wine in the DRC range. A pronounced mineral presence adds further depth, and the overall impression is one of seamless harmony.
